Set up in 1993 the “Dimitrie Cantemir” Ecological Foundation is an organization whose propose (from the very beginning) was to promote a bunch of cultural values and which has acquired in time, a certain reputation on national level for its activities and achievements.

Conceived as a non-governmental and non-profit organization, the Foundation was set up by PHD Engineer Zaira Murgu and its leading principle is "The right for learning is similar to the right for life" (Dumitru Murgu).

By assuming the term “ecological”, the Foundation ranged itself among the other establishments which sustain environment protection activities and humanitarian ones.

One of the most important achievements of the Foundation is the “Dimitrie Cantemir” University, dealing with university teaching activities and the “Dimitrie Cantemir” college, dealing with pre-university teaching activities.

The Foundation's activities were recognized as very useful and serious by the University's accreditation stipulated by Law no. 136/2005.

An other proof of our goals and activities is the University Campus and the “Junior” Students Hostel .

In order to provide an adequate and complete material foundation for a high-quality teaching process the Foundation's Management started in 1998 an ambitious project having as final aim a European standard university campus, the investments being transferred free of charge to the “Dimitrie Cantemir” University according to the establishment law.

Our goal for the near future are the accrediting of the specializations functioning at the “Dimitrie Cantemir” College Tirgu Mures by notification of the Ministry of Education and the providing of modern and necessary teaching supplies for this institution.
